TIM ROSE is a professional painter who works mostly in watercolour and paints subjects which range from architectural studies to country house gardens. He is an experienced teacher and demonstrator and has exhibited widely, including both the Royal Institute of Watercolourists and the Royal Society of Watercolourists at their open shows.
 

TEACHING WATERCOLOUR PAINTING
"My approach to painting is based on direct observation from nature and life, with emphasis on drawing and understanding tonal and colour values. I encourage students to ‘keep it simple’  , often using a limited palette of colours and considering composition through preliminary sketches. (Often what is lovely to look at can be the hardest things to paint)".

"On my workshops I demonstrate techniques and approaches to painting and offer personal tuition aimed at helping each individual. My teaching is not proscriptive (I don’t have a Tim Rose way) but aim to encourage and move students forward with enabling them to appraise their own work and gain insights".

"I have been teaching for over 10 years and run courses throughout the region as well as for Sheffield City Galleries".
